Exclusive: ggwinner may not be a new domain…

The very mysterious entrant, ggwinner, owned by Mr. X with an address "somewhere" in Ireland, may have a problem.  It appears that ggwinner is not new.  This can be verified here:http://www.prtag.com/expired-domains-archive_W0yZZ2008QQmZZ6QQdZZ8QQsZZ2.htm and here in the most excellent site by jmcc:  http://www.hosterstats.com/historicaldns.php?domain=ggwinner.com .  However the domain did expire, so it was indeed newly registered and this may allow it qualify.  Mr Mulley will have to make a call on this, should gg get to the top. There are obvious advantages if the domain previously had a large number of inbound links. Re-registering the domain can power up those links and help enormously.  However in the case of gg it doesn’t appear that there are a significant amount of inbound, if any - as this search shows: http://www.google.ie/search?num=100&hl=en&safe=off&q=link%3Awww.ggwinner.com&btnG=Search&meta=

My own feeling is that no advantage has been gained, the domain is newly registered, so it probably should be allowed.  Any other opinions?

eireseo are using funkyjamjars

Time for the links to creep into sites.  Look out for those page footers.  Latest is that eirseo are using their directory website, funkyjamjars to add traffic, with the link text "geansai gorm ireland" pointing towards blue jumper dot net.  All perfectly allowed.

GreyBandit by ketec

Grey Bandit is run by Damien Kettle of ketec.ie.  Ketec seem to targetting the domain SEO Ireland - given that’s what they call their site (well the dot ie domain) rather than Ketec.  Although I’ve just spotted ketec.net which is a graphically pleasing site - probably where they spend most of their efforts.

The name "Grey" might  suggest that their methods may not be as pure as the driven snow.  On vera.

New entrant - enquirewithin

www.enquirewithin.net is an entry from Paul Keane of graphics-it.com.  At this stage it just looks like work in progress.

Geansai Gorm Dot Biz uncovered

Well it would seem that it is Jason Roe behind the dot biz domain.  A post on CoWorking.ie http://www.coworking.ie/other-resources/geansai-gorm/ has links to both the dot biz domain and Jason’s entry Blue Jumper Ireland.  He also comments on it himself linking back to his id in the Irish Webmaster’s forum.  The pressure is being put on.  Jason owns over 40 domains so this could just be the start.

BlueJumpers Dot Net

What a difference an "s" makes.  http://www.bluejumpers.net/ - yes it’s plural.  It’s by a chap called Raul Dore.  Bluejumper dot net was already gone, so Raul went out and got himself the plural form. Vă doresc cel mai bun de noroc!  Best of Luck Raul.

eireseo try to net the prize

Louie of eireseo.ie has set up his vehicle for the contest at blue jumper dot net with his only outgoing link to a bobbins.ie which actually does sell geansai gorm. Eireseo.ie is a business which appears to concentrate on SEO, so as such he would be one of the few SEO pros that has taken the bait.

Jason calls in a bit of help from crossgunautos

I know things are bad in the motor industry - but I’m not sure that getting into selling knitted blue jumpers (or geansai gorm as the are called in Irish) is the way of pulling yourself out of recession, but all of a sudden the tumbleweed strewn blog at crossgunautos.com has come alive with the sound of knitting needles. For the moment it has even stormed ahead of his entry - although this is likely to change.
